Weston Inc. and Arco National Construction have started building a new industrial facility near John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

The Cleveland-based commercial real estate firm and the Missouri-based general contractor recently broke ground on a 207,000-square-foot speculative building at 885 Stelzer Road. The site is directly across from the airport in east Columbus.

Delivery of the spec industrial facility is expected in the fourth quarter, according to a press release.

“Weston is very excited to expand our footprint in the Central Ohio market,” T.J. Asher, president of acquisitions and development for Weston, said in the release. “The city of Columbus has been very accommodating and very easy to work with. With the growth of the area, we are confident that this will be a successful project.”

The building will be divisible up to 36,660 square feet and can accommodate industrial users across of variety of industries, including light manufacturing, the release states. The property is being leased by Newmark Managing Director Derek Lichtfuss and Newmark Vice Chairman Terry Coyne.

The facility will include tilt-up concrete construction, 32-foot clear height, 17 dock positions, two drive-in ramps, two main entrances, and car and trailer parking.

In the release, Weston and Arco touted the building’s central location near Interstate 670, Interstate 270 and Route 62.

“The strategic location and efficient design of this state-of-the-art facility will make it ideal for end-users looking to expand their footprint in the region,” Arco Operating Partner Jenna Martini said in the release. “Our Ohio team is proud to provide design-build services for the project.”

Weston Inc. is a commercial real estate company with millions of square feet of property across the United States. Established in 1972, the firm has offices in Cleveland and Louisville, Kentucky. It specializes in acquisitions, leasing and management services.

Founded more than 30 years ago, ARCO National Construction is a design-builder with more than 1,700 employees in 38 markets. The company describes itself as the fifth-largest design-build general contractor in the United States.
